The fifth generation of K-pop is gearing up for a thrilling February, with major releases from top groups like IVE, ZEROBASEONE, and others poised to make a splash on the charts.

Starting the month off with a bang, IVE will release their third EP, IVE EMPATHY, on February 3. The highly anticipated album will feature six tracks, including double title songs “REBEL HEART” and “ATTITUDE.” According to their agency, Starship Entertainment, the album showcases IVE’s evolving sound and growth, incorporating “proactive confidence” as a core theme. Members Jang Won-young and Liz also contributed by penning the lyrics for “ATTITUDE” and “Thank U,” respectively. The pre-release of “REBEL HEART” in mid-January already topped iTunes charts across four countries.

Meanwhile, boy group ZEROBASEONE is set to release their fifth mini-album on February 24, following the drop of their R&B ballad “Doctor! Doctor!” on January 22. The song, described as a metaphorical exploration of love addiction, promises to captivate with its catchy melody and emotional depth. The group is also gearing up for their first Japanese EP, PREZENT, set for release on January 29.

Adding to the wave of new K-pop arrivals, SM Entertainment will debut their latest girl group, Hearts2Hearts, on February 24. As the agency’s first girl group in five years, since the debut of aespa, Hearts2Hearts aims to blend unique musical storytelling with emotional depth. The group’s name reflects their mission to connect with fans globally, and their debut is expected to be a highlight of SM’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo will also make waves with her highly anticipated solo comeback on February 14. Following the success of her debut solo single, “ME,” in 2023, Jisoo will return with new music just in time for Valentine’s Day. In addition to her solo music, Jisoo is set to star in the upcoming Coupang Play series Newtopia, premiering February 7.

Virtual K-pop boy group PLAVE will release their third mini-album, Caligo Pt.1, on February 3. The group’s digital single “Pump Up The Volume” made waves in 2024, and fans can expect a visual and sonic evolution as they reveal teasers in the lead-up to the new release.

With such an exciting lineup, February promises to be a game-changing month for K-pop, as both established stars and rising rookies continue to shape the future of the genre.
