The highly anticipated K-pop festival Waterbomb is set to bring its electrifying energy to Sydney later this year. The festival, known for its high-octane performances and unique water-themed experiences, announced its Australian debut on January 20 through new social media accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
The posts teased the upcoming event, promising fans an unforgettable “summer experience” but left out specific details regarding dates and venues. While the exact timing remains unclear, the festival’s arrival is expected to offer a major splash in Sydney’s vibrant music scene.
This marks the latest expansion for Waterbomb, which took its electrifying show on the road across Asia and the US in 2024, including stops in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Although the festival was initially slated to debut in Los Angeles last year, the event was delayed due to “operational challenges.”
Waterbomb’s previous lineups have featured some of K-pop’s biggest names, such as Chung Ha, GOT7’s BamBam, 2NE1’s CL and Sandara Park, as well as VIVIZ and Kwon Eun-bi from IZ*ONE. Alongside K-pop icons, the festival also includes a mix of EDM, hip-hop, and R&B acts, ensuring a diverse musical experience.
As excitement builds for its Australian leg, fans can expect more details about dates and artists to be revealed soon.
