Jadakiss and Fat Joe Reveal New Podcast Focused on Sports, Music, and More

Rappers Jadakiss and Fat Joe are joining forces to launch their own podcast, Joe & Jada, where they will discuss music, sports, culture, and more. The show will be produced by The Volume and Roc Nation, with episodes airing twice a week starting this week.

In a press release issued on Monday, Fat Joe shared his excitement about the new venture. “My brother Jadakiss and I will be delivering a podcast experience like none other,” he said. “We’re both passionate and opinionated about music, sports, entertainment, and culture, so expect unfiltered analysis, versatile interviews, and untold stories. We’re coming to shake up the podcast game and set a new blueprint.”

Jadakiss echoed Joe’s sentiments, saying, “I’m looking forward to teaming up with Joe and showing another side of my personality. We’ve been friends for a long time, so we have the right chemistry and foundation to make this a really special show. Everyone is finally going to get to hear what we debate and discuss all the time behind the scenes.”

Both artists have made a name for themselves in the talk space in recent years. Fat Joe found success with his Instagram Live sessions, which led to his Starz show, Fat Joe Talks. Meanwhile, Jadakiss has gained attention for his long-running podcast with The LOX and ItsTheReal, 2 Jews & 2 Black Dudes Review The Movies, which has been picking up steam and releasing new episodes weekly.

The Joe & Jada podcast will likely touch on their thoughts about today’s Hip Hop scene, a topic both artists have spoken about recently. In January, Fat Joe admitted that some of the music from younger rap artists left him feeling “confused.” He shared, “I encourage the youth and I love the youth, but I’ve sat in traffic and [heard the music] — I felt like they were playing devil music right next to me. I’m like, ‘Yo, what the heck? That’s Hip Hop?!’”

Fat Joe continued, acknowledging the diversity within Hip Hop but expressing concern about some newer trends. “Hip Hop’s so diverse — we got Lauryn Hill, Biz Markie, Eric B. and Rakim, Nas… You’re not gonna open this shit and hear the same thing,” he added.

In February, Jadakiss emphasized the need for originality in Hip Hop, warning that the genre has become diluted. He pointed to Kendrick Lamar’s success as an example, saying, “It’s all about balance. Some dudes can rap and sing. Some dudes should just rap. But rap is for rapping. Start doing a bunch of everything else, it’s getting away from the elements and it’s diminishing the culture.”

Jadakiss also warned against copying trends, stating, “We don’t need to hear 53 more ‘Not Like Us’es. Just because that got him five Grammys and Super Bowl, this and that – when you go to create, don’t try to make that.”
