The Danish metal scene has received a major boost as Gradience, one of its most exciting new bands, has signed a record deal with Metal Blade Records. Known for their boundary-pushing sound, Gradience combines black metal, deathcore, metalcore, and even trap-rap into a unique style that has been drawing attention.
The band first gained significant recognition with their debut EP, Ironsight, produced by Chris Kreutzfeldt (Cabal, MØL). The EP, praised for its bold direction and deeply personal themes, explores feelings of alienation and inner conflict. Ironsight has earned a nomination for Release of the Year at the Danish Heavy Awards, with Gradience also being nominated for Newcomer of the Year.
The Metal Blade deal follows the release of Gradience’s new single, “Lucid,” featuring fellow Danish metalcore band Ghost Iris. The track, accompanied by a music video, showcases the band’s evolution with epic vocals, crushing grooves, and a raw emotional depth. It’s a powerful example of metal that embraces vulnerability.
2024 has already been a big year for Gradience. The band performed at the When Copenhell Freezes Over showcase at Copenhagen’s legendary VEGA club and released two notable collaborations: “Crushed By The Tide” with Hexis and “Save Me” with UK band Love Is Noise. “Crushed By The Tide” has already been gaining airplay on Denmark’s alternative radio stations.
Gradience is rapidly gaining momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. If you haven’t yet experienced their sound, now is the perfect time to discover them.
