In June, Mdina’s historic St Paul’s Cathedral will host A Midsummer Dream, part of the Mdina Resounds Concert Series launched by Udjenza.
The concert is set for June 25th. It will blend classical music with spoken word, all within the cathedral’s unique atmosphere. The performers include the Cordia String Quartet, led by Jacob Portelli, and Maltese soprano Miriam Cauchi.
The program features pieces by Mozart, Rachmaninov, Debussy, and Vivaldi. These works are chosen to reflect the themes of abundance and light, which are linked to summer. In addition, actor Mikhail Basmadjian will recite poetry by Shakespeare, William Blake, and Rużar Briffa. His readings will add a literary element to the event.
This concert marks the continued growth of the Mdina Resounds Concert Series. The series aims to bring classical music to culturally important venues across Malta.
