Los Angeles-based alt-pop/country artist Emily Fehler, known for her project Gold Child, has released “On The Other Side,” marking her first new material since 2021’s Far From You EP. The song delves into the disillusionment that often accompanies the pursuit of long-held dreams, reflecting Fehler’s personal journey toward self-discovery.
“On The Other Side” captures a moment of melancholy, as Fehler reflects on the life choices that led her to question what might have been if she had taken a different path. She explains, “I sought happiness and contentment through external changes — like moving across the country from NYC to LA — rather than addressing the deeper reasons for my dissatisfaction. Ultimately, I’ve come to accept where I am and learned that the process itself is what life is about.”
Known for her blend of heartfelt storytelling and ethereal soundscapes, Fehler’s musical journey began at a young age. She captivated audiences with her pop and country covers at age nine and honed her craft as a prolific songwriter in high school. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Fehler rediscovered her passion for country music, finding inspiration in the timeless melodies and raw emotion of country legends like Patsy Cline. With “On The Other Side,” she reveals a fresh stylistic approach, continuing her evolution as an artist.
