South Florida-based pop-punk band Give It Up has teamed up with the vibrant spirit of Antigua for their new feel-good anthem, “Island Time”, along with a lively music video. Known for their energetic performances and catchy, singable melodies, the band blends punk rock influences with modern pop to create a dynamic sound that continues to captivate their fans.
Following the success of their debut singles, “All My Fault” and “No One Told Me”, Give It Up continues to make waves in the South Florida music scene. Their high-energy live shows and authentic sound have earned them a dedicated following. With “Island Time”, the band takes listeners on a journey celebrating freedom, connection, and the carefree spirit of vacation. The track combines the band’s South Florida punk roots with the easy-going vibes of island life, embodying the true feeling of “vacation mode.”
The song was written and performed by the band members: Sean Gordon (vocals/bass), Dave Ferreira (guitar/vocals), Ron Griguts (drums), and Brian Midkiff (lead guitar). The video, shot entirely on location in Antigua, features some of the island’s most iconic locations, including Devil’s Bridge National Park, Shirley Heights, Block House Lookout Point, and the Donkey Sanctuary. One of the most striking scenes shows the band playing in front of Antigua’s clear blue waters, capturing the essence of island life.
Give It Up’s collaboration with Elite Island Resorts further highlights Antigua’s stunning natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere. The video promotes the island’s rich history and culture, inviting travelers to experience its vibrant energy. Elite Island Resorts also showcases its luxury offerings, including The Verandah Antigua and Pineapple Beach Club Antigua, two premier resorts with sweeping views and lush landscapes.
“We wanted to capture the true spirit of Antigua—the rhythm, the people, and the incredible energy,” said Sean Gordon of Give It Up. “This project is about music and travel. It’s about embracing freedom, being yourself, and celebrating life’s simple joys while on vacation. Antigua lets you do exactly that, and that’s the spirit we poured into ‘Island Time’.”
The music video also features local Antiguans and Miami-based creatives, adding authenticity to the narrative. The band’s commitment to community and connection shines through, highlighting the importance of celebrating culture and shared experiences.
The video was edited by acclaimed MTV VMA winner Michael Garcia, whose cinematic style and emotional storytelling enhance the visual experience. Known for his work with artists like Machine Gun Kelly and Jason Derulo, Garcia’s editing brings a deeper level of immersion, blending Antigua’s natural beauty with the band’s energetic performance.
“Island Time” was officially released at a VIP “Island Time” Video Release Party on May 2, 2025, at Anchors Aweigh Dive Bar in Deerfield Beach, FL. The event included live performances by Give It Up and local band Tiger Sunset, and served as a nod to the band’s roots in the South Florida music scene.
In the coming weeks, Give It Up will continue to promote their new release while showcasing their high-energy live shows. The band’s dedication to Antigua and its culture remains evident as they spread the message of embracing “Island Time”, wherever you may be.
“Island Time” is more than just a song—it’s a reminder of the best travel experiences, which are not defined by schedules or luxury but by the authentic moments and connections that linger long after the vacation ends.
