Jury selection for Diddy’s criminal trial began on Monday morning in New York City and will continue through the week. The trial’s start coincides with Kanye West’s decision to revise the lyrics in his upcoming song “Bianca.” Initially, West had compared himself and his wife to Diddy and Cassie in the track.
In the original version, West rapped: “I’m tracking my bh through an app / I’m tracking my bh through the city / I guess we the new Cassie and Diddy / I’m making this song for Bianca / I’m feeling the spirit of Donda / Her family, they want me locked up.” However, in a new preview of the song shared during a livestream on Sneako’s channel, West altered the line to: “I’m taking my focus off Diddy,” as reported by Hip-Hop-N-More.
The change has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some fans expressed disappointment with the new version, with one commenting, “I don’t like the drill beats. I f*cks with the old version. Needs a more unsettling tone.” Another fan criticized the track’s production, saying, “Take out the hi hats please. And use your regular voice. Also, Drake would’ve been so much better on ‘Lift Yourself.’ You’ve got too many yes men in your circle.”
The “Bianca” song is set to appear on Kanye West’s forthcoming album, Cuck. West has been promoting the project through live streams over the past several weeks. The album will be produced entirely by Dave Blunts, who confirmed his involvement in a social media video.
Blunts addressed rumors surrounding the project in April, saying, “Everyone seems to think WW3 is an antisemitic album, but it’s not. It’s about one man going through hurt, betrayal, and pain, and he’s putting that emotion into music. I know it’s not antisemitic because I wrote every song on that album.” He added, “I can’t wait for you all to hear it, even though my label is going to be mad I revealed this.”
