French experimental metal group Igorrr has released a new video for their single “Blastbeat Falafel.” The track features Trey Spruance from Mr. Bungle and Timba Harris of Estradasphere and Secret Chiefs 3. It is part of their upcoming fifth album, Amen, which will be released on September 19 through Metal Blade Records.
Gautier Serre, the band’s leader and multi-instrumentalist, explained the song’s unique style. He said, “The track is an unnatural and unorthodox mix of metal and traditional oriental music. It tells the story of a metalhead who loves oriental music but struggles to fit into its rules. He tries too hard, loses his identity, and ends up in a psychiatric hospital.”
