The European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) has revealed the artists selected for its prestigious Rising Stars program for the 2026/27 season. This initiative, founded in 1995, has helped launch the international careers of over 150 emerging musicians. Past participants include Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Jörg Widmann, Janine Jansen, Renaud Capuçon, Kian Soltani, Quarteto Casals, Belcea Quartet, and the Modigliani Quartet.
The Rising Stars program supports early-career musicians who have already built strong reputations in their home countries. It helps them reach broader audiences across Europe. To be selected, artists must be nominated by leading concert halls that are members of ECHO.
The 2026/27 Rising Stars are:
Amelio Trio
Violinist Ava Bahari
Javus Quartett
Cellist Petar Pejčić
Soprano Camila Mandillo
Soprano Elionor Martinez
The Amelio Trio, based in Germany, includes violinist Johanna Schubert, cellist Merle Geißler, and pianist Philipp Kirchner. They were nominated by the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Barbican Centre, and Philharmonie Luxembourg.
Ava Bahari, a violinist, was nominated by the Konserthuset Stockholm, Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris, and NOSPR Katowice.
The Javus Quartett, made up of violinists Marie-Therese Schwöllinger and Alexandra Moser, violist Marvin Stark, and cellist Oscar Hagen, was nominated by the Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Serbian cellist Petar Pejčić received nominations from Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Dortmund, and Palau de la Música Catalana.
Soprano Camila Mandillo, based in Belgium, was nominated by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Bozar Brussels, and Casa da Música Porto.
Soprano Elionor Martinez, based in Switzerland, was nominated by Palau de la Música Catalana, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and Barcelona’s L’Auditori.
These talented artists will now have the opportunity to perform at major venues across the ECHO network, giving them valuable international exposure and career development.
