The first-ever Kaaos Festival will take place on July 25-26 at the former Wasalandia amusement park area in Vaasa. The festival has announced Norwegian progressive metal band Leprous as the headliner for Saturday. This will be Leprous’ only show in Finland in 2025.
Leprous is known for its artistic and unique approach to heavy music. The band was formed by vocalist and keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke when they were teenagers. Over the years, Leprous has developed a sound influenced by a wide range of artists, including Massive Attack, The Prodigy, and Behemoth. The band has released many critically praised albums during their 20-year career. Their latest album, “Melodies of Atonement,” came out in 2024. Leprous describes their music as “a light at the end of the tunnel.” This style has helped them build a loyal fan base worldwide.
With Leprous confirmed and the upcoming announcement of the band competition winner for Friday, the full festival lineup is now complete. Festival promoter Arto Mäenpää commented on the program: “The first year’s lineup is now set, and it reflects the spirit of Kaaoszine well. We have a wide range of metal styles, from black metal to nu-metal. We hope many people will give this new festival a chance. Neither the venue nor the bands will disappoint! See you in Vaasa in July!”
