IU is preparing to make her highly anticipated return to music this month, with actor and K-pop star Cha Eun-woo set to make a special cameo in her upcoming music video.
Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed, “IU is preparing for a comeback in May, and Cha Eun-woo will appear in a cameo role.”
This release will mark IU’s first new music since her EP The Winning, which was released in February 2024.
In addition to her musical comeback, IU recently earned praise for her performance in the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines, which wrapped up on March 28. Playing the roles of Ae-sun and her daughter Geum-myeong, IU received accolades for her emotional depth and versatility as an actress.
IU is also set to star in the upcoming MBC drama, tentatively titled The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife, expected to air in 2026. She will star alongside actor Byeon Woo-seok.
Excitement is building for IU’s return to music, with her collaboration with Cha Eun-woo already generating buzz online. The two stars previously caught attention with a photoshoot for a jewelry brand, further raising anticipation for their on-screen chemistry in the new music video.
