The Farley Music Festival, a celebrated classical music event, returns this year from Tuesday, June 10 to Sunday, June 15 at All Saints’ Church in Farley.
This year’s programme will highlight a range of talented performers expected to gain international recognition.
The festival opens on Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm. Musical director Nicholas Walker will perform on piano alongside flautist Ruta Vaytkute. Their programme includes works by Bach and Schubert.
On Wednesday, June 11 at 7pm, pianist Mihayi Berecz will take the stage with selections from Bach and Beethoven.
Thursday’s concert, on June 12 at 7pm, will feature Joanna Krauze. She will perform on both piano and organ, presenting pieces by Bach and Beethoven.
On Friday, June 13 at 7pm, Isabelle Oehmichen will play a varied programme of works by Schubert, Mozart, and Bortkiewicz.
The festival’s popular opera gala returns on Saturday, June 14 at 7pm. The evening will include performances by pianist Julia Klimek, soprano Oksana Lepska, mezzo-soprano Aleksandra Kenenova, tenor Martins Smaukstelis, and bass Edwin Kaye. Together, they will perform a selection of well-loved arias.
The festival closes on Sunday, June 15 at 6pm with a traditional evensong. The choirs of Bishop Wordsworth and Godolphin schools will lead the music. Jeremy Davies, retired precentor of Salisbury Cathedral, will deliver the sermon.
Tickets are priced at £20 for concerts from Tuesday to Friday. Saturday’s opera gala is £30. Sunday’s evensong is free of charge. All ticket prices include a glass of English sparkling wine during the interval.
