Fresh off her Grammy victory for Best Rap Album, Doechii has unleashed a new single, “Nosebleeds,” a swagger-filled anthem that reflects her newfound success. The track, produced by Jonas Jeberg and executive produced by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and Anthony “Moosa” Tiffith, is a bold celebration of the rapper’s rise. In the song, Doechii confidently raps, “Everyone wanted to know what Doechii would do if she didn’t win/ I guess we’ll never know,” and “Guess we’ll never see the day that Doechii crown falls/guess you’ll never live to see the day Doechii loses.”
This new release follows a career-defining moment for Doechii, who took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album for her debut full-length Alligator Bites Never Heal. The rapper not only claimed the prestigious award but also delivered one of the night’s most memorable performances. For her first-ever Grammy appearance, Doechii mashed up her tracks “Catfish” and “Denial Is a River,” donning a sharp gray suit and shorts ensemble, later shedding the outfit for a high-energy reveal in a white swimsuit, surrounded by dancers in matching attire.
Doechii shared her approach to music, emphasizing her desire to create something both fresh and nostalgic within the hip-hop genre. “I feel like there’s a space in hip-hop that needs to be filled right now,” she said. “This project feels nostalgic, but it also feels forward, fresh, and rooted in hip-hop traditions. We need to get back to what made hip-hop great — the art of beat selection, rapping, and lyrical composition, while being vulnerable and real.”
During her Grammy acceptance speech, Doechii also reflected on her role as a potential inspiration for other Black women. “So many Black women out there that are watching me right now,” she said. “I want to tell you, You can do it. Anything is possible. Don’t allow anybody to project any stereotypes on you that tell you that you can’t be here, that you’re too dark, or that you’re not smart enough, or that you’re too dramatic, or you’re too loud.”
