Chris Janson drew inspiration from country music legend Hank Williams Jr. when crafting his latest single, “Stay Rowdy.” The track, which reflects the fun-loving spirit of Williams Jr.’s 1980s hits, is a tribute to the kind of music that encourages living in the moment and enjoying life.
“Simply put, I wanted to write something that reminded me of Hank Jr. in the 80s, country music that makes me want to have a good time,” Janson explained, referencing Williams Jr.’s iconic 1981 song “All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down).”
The song has already proven to be a crowd favorite, with Janson noting that his first live performance of “Stay Rowdy” was met with an enthusiastic response. “It became an instant staple in the show,” he said, adding, “Stay rowdy, my friends.”
Accompanying the release of “Stay Rowdy” is a high-energy music video, where Janson and his band share a rowdy good time. The video opens with the singer lounging with a cigar and guitar, before cutting to scenes of him and his band letting loose aboard their tour bus.
Currently on his own headlining tour, Janson is also preparing to hit the road with Kid Rock in March.
