Industrial noise pop trio TAYNE is set to release their highly anticipated album LOVE, which delves into deeply personal stories, particularly one from the band’s Irish frontman, Matthew Sutton. The album’s emotional core is shaped by Sutton’s father, Noel, also known as Dublin-based drag performer and DJ Dizzy Dyin4it, whose life and journey as a gay man inspired much of the work.
Noel, who spent much of his early life unaware of the full significance of his sexuality, reflected on his past. He shared that although he was attracted to men, he fell deeply in love with a woman—his neighbor and best friend. They married and had four children, but their relationship eventually ended. Noel explained that while his sexuality was a factor in the breakup, it wasn’t the sole reason for the separation.
Despite the challenges, Noel and his ex-wife made it a priority to be transparent with their children about the situation. Noel said he was “very lucky” that his sons embraced his sexuality, which inspired a positive and open family dynamic.
This powerful family history serves as the emotional foundation of LOVE, with TAYNE channeling these experiences into their latest music. The album will be released on January 31 via MNRK/Inside Job.
