SZA is remembering her late friend Mac Miller, reflecting on their friendship after the release of his posthumous album, Balloonerism. The album, which dropped on what would have been Miller’s 33rd birthday, was celebrated by the Grammy-winning artist.
Released on January 17, Balloonerism marks the second posthumous project from the Pittsburgh rapper, following Circles in 2020. The 14-track album explores Miller’s experimental blend of neo-soul and jazz, with guest appearances from SZA, Thundercat, and Ashley All Day.
Miller tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 26 from an accidental drug overdose. His estate confirmed the album’s release in November, honoring his lasting musical legacy. SZA, who features on the track “DJ’s Chord Organ,” encouraged fans to listen and remember the impact of Miller’s work.
