Grammy-winning rapper Nelly is set to take the stage at one of President-elect Donald Trump’s official inaugural balls on Monday. The artist, renowned for his 2002 hit “Hot In Herre,” will perform at the Inaugural Liberty Ball in Washington, D.C.
While Nelly will heat up the stage, the frigid weather promises to keep the temperatures low, with an Arctic blast expected to bring freezing conditions to the capital. Due to the cold, Trump announced the ceremony would be moved indoors to the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, following the example of Ronald Reagan’s 1985 inauguration.
Nelly’s performance will be part of a star-studded lineup. Country singer Carrie Underwood will open the swearing-in ceremony with “America the Beautiful,” while opera vocalist Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem. The Village People, famous for their anthem “Y.M.C.A.,” will also appear at various inaugural events.
