Rap music icon DaBaby is collaborating with the Carolina Panthers to create a fresh, modern theme song for the team. The current unofficial anthem, “North Carolina” by Petey Pablo, has been a staple since its release in 2001. However, with most sports teams not typically having an official theme song, DaBaby—who hails from the Charlotte area—aims to bring a new sound to Panthers fans.
In a recent statement, DaBaby confirmed his ongoing talks with the team, expressing his excitement to deliver a new anthem. “We gotta give ourselves another theme song,” he said. “Petey Pablo’s been holding it down for decades for us. We gotta come with something else to play back-to-back with that ‘North Carolina.'” Fans can expect a fresh track that captures the spirit of the Panthers and their passionate fanbase.
