The Marshall Tucker Band and JJ Grey & Mofro are joining forces for a highly anticipated spring tour, bringing classic Southern rock and swamp blues to audiences across the U.S. The tour, named The Ramblin’ Rooster Tour, will kick off on May 15 in Ashland, Kentucky, and will make stops in cities like Cincinnati, Nashville, and Columbia, South Carolina—the home state of the Marshall Tucker Band.
Led by iconic frontman Doug Gray, the Marshall Tucker Band has built a legacy with timeless hits like “Can’t You See,” “Fire on the Mountain,” and “Heard It in a Love Song.” “We look forward to doing these live shows with the great JJ Grey & Mofro,” Gray said in a statement. “I’m sure the MTB family will be enjoying JJ as much as we do. Let’s get this party started! Get ready to hold on!”
Meanwhile, JJ Grey & Mofro, renowned for their blend of swampy blues-rock, are approaching their 30th anniversary. Grey, reflecting on the collaboration, shared his excitement: “After being a fan and covering many of the songs of Marshall Tucker over the years, I am humbled at the idea of being on the same stage as them.”
The Ramblin’ Rooster Tour promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Southern rock’s roots, bringing together two influential forces in the genre.
