Indie rockers Catfish and The Bottlemen have unveiled plans for their largest show yet in Liverpool. The band is slated to perform in front of approximately 32,000 fans on July 11 as part of the In The Park Festival at Sefton Park. This event promises to be one of the city’s most significant concerts, following in the footsteps of Michael Jackson’s iconic Aintree Racecourse show that drew a crowd of 125,000 in 1988.

Additional acts will be announced for the festival lineup in the coming weeks.

Tickets for Catfish and The Bottlemen’s performance will be available for purchase starting at 10 a.m. on Friday (April 19, 2024) via intheparkfestival.

The festival series also includes performances by Tom Grennan, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, and others in Liverpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

In addition to their Liverpool show, the band will headline at Cardiff Castle on July 19 and the Edinburgh Summer Sessions on August 24. They are also set to headline the main stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival in August.

Earlier this year, Catfish and The Bottlemen made a triumphant return with their first single in five years, “Showtime.” Recorded in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer Dave Sardy (known for his work with Oasis and the Rolling Stones), the track showcases frontman Van McCann’s growth as a songwriter and serves as a preview of the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album.

Van McCann, the band’s lead singer, expressed his ambitious vision for their future performances. He cited Oasis as a major influence, reminiscing about their legendary shows and expressing a desire to emulate that level of magnetism and energy in Catfish and The Bottlemen’s performances.
