The Country Music Hall of Fame will open a new exhibit, Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker, on May 20. The exhibit celebrates the life and career of the country music icon, showcasing her grit, glamour, and lasting influence.
Visitors can explore a wide range of items, including Dolly Parton’s famous clothing and shoes, awards, handwritten lyrics, instruments, and rare photographs. The exhibit also features exclusive interview footage. It highlights key moments from her 60-year career—her struggles, triumphs, and how she became a beloved figure worldwide.
Dolly Parton shared her excitement, saying, “Being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame was one of the greatest moments of my life. Having a personal exhibit for the fans who made that possible means a lot to me. This seeker is very proud and honored, and I hope you enjoy my journey. I will always love you.”
Fans will have the chance to see Parton’s first draft of the lyrics to her #1 hit “Jolene.” The exhibit also includes a cowgirl outfit she wore in the 1980 film 9 to 5, a dress designed by Lucy Adams worn on The Porter Wagoner Show, and the cover outfit from the 1974 album Porter ’n’ Dolly, along with other treasured memorabilia.
Visitors to the exhibit might find themselves inspired to ask, “What Would Dolly Do?” The exhibit will run through September 2026. Admission to the exhibit is included with the museum ticket. A limited number of timed tickets are available each day, so advance reservations are recommended.
