Rookie girl group VVS has released their first mini-album, just one month after making their debut.

The group dropped the album D.I.M.M (Diamonds In My Mouth) at 6 p.m. on May 19. This release follows their debut single “TEA” on April 22 and the follow-up single “Purrfect” on May 9, highlighting the group’s fast-paced schedule. The title track “D.I.M.M” carries a strong hip-hop sound and pays tribute to the late American hip-hop legend DJ Screw. The diamond grills featured in teaser videos also reflect this homage. The group’s concept photos emphasize this hip-hop aesthetic, showing a bold approach that goes beyond typical K-pop girl group standards.

Musically, the track features heavy 808 drums, synth bass, chopped vocals, and non-stop rap punchlines over four minutes. The song expresses VVS’s ambition to build a strong hip-hop identity and showcases their boldness. Their smooth transitions between English and Korean rap also stand out. The teaser videos hinted at a high-energy and visually powerful performance.

VVS is the first girl group produced by multinational label MZMC. The members—Britney, Ailey, Lana, Jiwoo, and Liwon—are introduced as five standout talents, described as “top-tier gems” ready to transform K-pop. The album D.I.M.M reflects the group’s musical direction and marks the start of their journey. It captures the members’ stories of growth, future goals, and deep respect for hip hop.
