The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will offer daily family programs this summer. Local youth will get free admission, and up to two adults accompanying them can buy tickets at a discounted price. This gives families in the area a chance to learn about the history of country music.
The museum’s family activities include explorer and sensory kits, scavenger hunts, coloring pages, and interactive exhibits. It will also hold drop-in programs and workshops for different family groups during the week. Visitors are encouraged to book tickets ahead on the museum’s website.
From Memorial Day until August 10, the museum will increase daily family programs and workshops as follows:
Mondays, 10 a.m. to Noon — Friendship Bracelets: Visitors can make friendship bracelets to trade with friends, symbolizing unity. This activity is open to all ages.
Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to Noon — Design Your Own Instrument: Participants use everyday materials and their imagination to create new instruments. All ages can join.
Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to Noon — Musical Instrument Petting Zoo: Visitors get to try playing different instruments like the fiddle, banjo, and ukulele. This is open to everyone.
Thursdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to Noon — Arts and Crafts: Families can explore museum artifacts and exhibitions through arts and crafts in a drop-in setting.
From June 23 to 28, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., the museum will present String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music and Puppetry. This show uses marionettes, rod puppets, and shadow animation to tell the story of country music and Nashville’s rise as Music City. Nearly 100 puppets represent famous artists such as the Staple Singers, Johnny Cash, and Taylor Swift.
Youth aged 18 and under who live in Nashville-Davidson and nearby counties—Cheatham, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson—can enter the museum for free. Up to two adults with them get 25% off their tickets. Proof of residency is required.
The museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Timed tickets for entry are available from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a limited number of tickets each day.
