Finnish folk metal band Korpiklaani has released a live video for their song “Tapa sen kun kerkeet” from their latest album, Rankarumpu. The video was recorded during their performance at the Trolls et Légendes 2024 festival in Mons, Belgium.
Jonne Järvelä, the band’s frontman, shared his thoughts on the song:
“‘Tapa sen kun kerkeet’ (which means ‘Kill While You Can’) is probably the most aggressive thrash metal track we have ever made. However, it still keeps our signature folk style. The anger and frustration behind the song come from how we see the world today. It talks about the senselessness of war. Humanity keeps making the same mistakes throughout history, even with more advanced weapons and technology.”
Rankarumpu is Korpiklaani’s twelfth studio album. It delivers classic folk metal with fast, energetic, and dynamic music. The album confirms the band’s position as leaders in this genre.
