Progressive death metal band Fallujah has released their third single, “Step Through the Portal and Breathe,” from their upcoming studio album Xenotaph, which will be released on June 13 via Nuclear Blast.
The new track runs nearly seven minutes and blends Fallujah’s signature heaviness with fresh sonic ideas. The band says it includes some of their most intense vocal work and complex arrangements so far. It also features a debut solo from their new guitarist, Sam Mooradian. The song gives listeners a strong preview of the album’s overall sound and direction.
Xenotaph will be Fallujah’s sixth full-length album. Fans can now pre-order it in limited edition vinyl, CD, and cassette formats. Vocalist Kyle Schaefer calls it their most ambitious record yet. He describes it as a technically advanced and emotionally deep album that combines progressive metal with a concept focused on an otherworldly experience after death. The full band worked together on the writing process, aiming to create a unified and powerful release.
