Metal Band Responds After Being Blamed by Another Group for Early Tour End

Two heavy metal bands were set to continue their co-headlining tour with additional stops in South America and Australia. But now, Bullet for My Valentine is speaking out after being blamed by Trivium for ending the tour early.

The tour, called “The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour,” is a joint celebration of the 20th anniversaries of Bullet for My Valentine’s debut album The Poison and Trivium’s second album Ascendancy. The two groups are finishing the North American leg, but further dates appear to have been canceled.

Trivium claimed there were only four shows left and suggested Bullet for My Valentine had decided not to move forward with the rest of the tour. Bullet for My Valentine addressed the situation in a statement shared with Loudwire on Wednesday.

“As we head into the final shows of The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour, we want to thank everyone who’s come out to celebrate with us,” the band said. “The shows have been phenomenal, and we’ve loved connecting with every single one of you.”

The band said the decision to step away from the tour was part of their shift in focus.

“The four of us collectively feel that the time is right for us to divert our full attention towards the next chapter of Bullet For My Valentine,” the statement continued. “We can’t wait to get back in the studio later this summer and finish what we promise you is our best album to date.”

They also revealed they have begun planning tours for 2026 and 2027.

“We are super excited to drop new music for you all. We value our fans above all else and are forever grateful for your support. We’ll be back with all of you very soon,” the statement concluded.

The explanation follows public comments made by Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto, who appeared to blame Bullet for the tour’s shortened schedule. In a livestream posted on Reddit, Gregoletto claimed that Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck was responsible for the decision.

“Matt Tuck didn’t want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works — don’t know why,” Gregoletto said. “I think it would have been amazing.”

He added that the two albums were a strong match and fans around the world should have had the chance to see them performed together.

Gregoletto also posted on Trivium’s official TikTok account, writing in a caption: “When you make your first TikTok live and miss off the other bands you are on tour with…”

In response to a TikTok comment accusing Bullet for My Valentine of being unprofessional, Trivium replied with further criticism.

“He’s [Tuck] the sole decision maker of the band and has no respect for us or our crew,” the band wrote.

Despite the tension, the final show of The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour is still scheduled to take place Sunday at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina.
