Manama, May 13 (BNA) – The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, delivered a stunning performance of the “Beauty of Classical Music” at the Bahrain National Theatre.
The concert, held to celebrate Europe Day and honor the values of unity and diversity, was organized in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to Bahrain. The event highlighted the orchestra’s role as a leading musical group in the region, offering a program filled with iconic classical compositions.
Special guest performers included soprano Marika Franchino, who mesmerized the audience with famous arias by Puccini, and violinist Olga Arribas Quintana, who performed a solo from Mendelssohn’s renowned violin concerto.
The evening’s repertoire also featured works by Beethoven, Mozart, Bizet, Sibelius, Bartók, and de Falla, alongside a special tribute to French-Polish composer Frédéric Chopin.
Founded in 2022 by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra includes over 100 musicians and choir members. Its creation marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s cultural development.
