Global pop sensation Ed Sheeran is set to make his long-awaited debut in Chennai on February 5, bringing his innovative +–=÷× Tour to the YMCA Grounds in Nandanam. The concert is part of Sheeran’s ongoing world tour, which began in 2022 and is being organized by AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live.
Fans can expect a one-of-a-kind experience as Sheeran is known for his dynamic live performances using a loop station. By layering rhythms, melodies, and harmonies in real-time, Sheeran creates completely unique compositions at each show, ensuring that no two concerts are alike. His performance promises to be an immersive, spontaneous musical journey.
In addition to his classic ballads, Sheeran will also bring back fan-favorite rap track “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” from his early career. The show will be opened by acclaimed singer Jonita Gandhi, who will deliver a mix of Bollywood hits and indie music.
Sheeran has already performed in Pune and Hyderabad, and following Chennai, he will take the tour to Bengaluru, Shillong, and Gurugram. The +–=÷× Tour spans across 165 shows and includes hits from Sheeran’s albums, including = (2021), – (2023), and others.
This is Sheeran’s third visit to India, following performances in Mumbai in 2015 and 2017. The India leg of his tour was officially confirmed in November 2024 after his sold-out Mumbai concert earlier this year.
