MaRynn Taylor’s dream of a career in music is becoming a reality as she prepares to open for one of her idols, Kelsea Ballerini, at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena on February 7.
For the Rockford, Mich., native, performing on a national arena tour is the culmination of years of hard work. “It’s such a dream come true. I’ve wanted to do this since I was little, so to go on a tour in the fall and then on an arena tour with Kelsea this winter and spring is everything I’ve ever dreamed of,” Taylor shared. “It keeps getting better and better each show.”
Growing up, Taylor was influenced by country icons of the 1990s and 2000s like Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert. Her love for country music was ignited at age six when she saw Hannah Montana in concert, a moment that sparked her passion for the genre despite facing doubts growing up in the Rust Belt. By 17, she moved to Nashville, determined to follow her musical dreams.
Taylor’s career gained significant momentum in 2023 when she was named one of CMT’s “Next Women in Country.” Her fall 2024 tour with Dylan Schneider was followed by her current opening slot with Ballerini. In 2024, Taylor released two EPs, Get to Know Me and Christmas Is, along with the single “Season 2 of Friends,” a reflection on the pressure young adults often feel about their lives, comparing it to the early seasons of Friends.
“Songwriting has been my passion since middle school,” Taylor added, showing that her journey to the spotlight is built on years of dedication.
Taylor will perform at PPG Paints Arena on February 7.
