Kate Harding, a Portsmouth-based country music artist originally from Freshwater and Sandown on the Isle of Wight, is set to make her debut at the ‘Country on the Coast’ festival. Before April, she will also release two new singles, starting with the energetic and punchy track, She Started It, due out this Monday.
The song, written about a dramatic altercation between two women in a bar, is packed with punk influences and intense energy. The track’s lyrics describe a chaotic scene with wine being thrown and bottles smashing, leaving listeners eager to hear how the story unfolds.
The drums for She Started It were recorded at Casemates Studios in Hilsea, Portsmouth, with Sean Kenneally on drums and Jim Harding producing. Jim will also oversee production for Harding’s next single, Shiny Things, which is expected to drop before April. Casemates Studios, known for its contributions to the local music scene, was recently shortlisted for the Portsmouth Music Awards in the ‘Recording Studios of the Year’ category.
