Jachin Mee Unveils Surreal Four-Part Music Video for “Big Mess”

by Barbara Green

Jachin Mee, known for his role in the art folk band Any Young Mechanic (formerly Wake In Fright), continues to explore new creative realms with his solo project. Following the release of his kaleidoscopic debut single “Big Mess” in September 2024, Mee is now ready to share the accompanying music video for the track, set to drop on January 29.

“Big Mess,” the lead single from Mee’s debut solo album Talking to Music About People, lives up to its name with its blend of contrasting emotions, tempos, and styles. The music video mirrors this dynamic chaos, featuring a four-part, collaborative effort by directors Roxy Brown, Conor Mercury, Sheron Subasinghe, and Sam Wilson. Each director brings their own unique visual flair, resulting in a kaleidoscopic mix of high-definition footage, handheld camcorder shots, surrealism, realism, and fluctuating emotional tones—all fittingly matching the song’s energetic and unpredictable spirit.
