Metallica, having performed on every continent, is now venturing into the virtual world with a series of events in Fortnite this month. The legendary band becomes the first to headline across all Fortnite experiences, with Metallica-themed gameplay launching today, June 13, in Fortnite Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and more.
Adding to the excitement, Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. will debut as a new music experience within Fortnite, featuring in-game concert performances exclusively on June 22 and June 23. This innovative event, custom-built using Unreal Editor for Fortnite by technology studio Magnopus, will transport players through six of Metallica’s fan-favorite songs with immersive gameplay that mirrors the energy of their live shows. The concert will have six different showtimes across two days:

Icons James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo of Metallica will be the stars of Fortnite Festival Season 4. Fans can rock out with Metallica classics like “Enter Sandman,” “Ride the Lightning,” and “Master of Puppets.”
Metallica’s presence in Fortnite goes beyond performances—they’re also joining the battle. This season introduces the Battle Stage, a new competitive rhythm music game mode that will remain available even after the Metallica collaboration ends. In the Battle Stage, 16 players will compete using the same four-song setlist, with one emerging victorious.
