Sam Smith is celebrating a decade of their debut album, ‘In The Lonely Hour’, with a special anniversary edition. The acclaimed album, originally released in 2014, will be reissued on August 2, featuring all ten original tracks, including the hits ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘I’m Not the Only One’. The reissue will also include a new exclusive track titled ‘Little Sailor’.
The anniversary edition, titled ‘The Collector’s Edition 4’ LP and the ‘Standard Double’ CD, will encompass a total of 25 songs. This collection will also feature live versions of the album’s original tracks, providing fans with a comprehensive and enriched listening experience.
In addition to the album reissue, Smith has announced the launch of a new charitable foundation and podcast, both named ‘The Pink House’. The foundation is inspired by the house where Smith grew up and aims to support members of the LGBTQ+ community. The podcast, ‘The Pink House Podcast’, will feature notable guests such as Elliot Page, Laverne Cox, and Gloria Estefan, who will discuss their journeys of acceptance and found families.
In a statement, the 32-year-old Grammy winner expressed excitement about these new projects: “I’m so delighted to announce that the first activation of my soon to be launched charitable foundation, ‘The Pink House’ is ‘The Pink House Podcast’. This year I have been sitting down and recording interviews with truly inspirational leaders, guardians of their craft and revolutionary voices. These conversations have been truly wonderful, and they all enrich and inform our collective mission with ‘The Pink House’, which is to use knowledge and lived experience to support, and to protect, the lives of our beautiful community of queer/LGBTQIA+ people.”
The first two episodes of ‘The Pink House Podcast’ will be available from tomorrow (June 13, 2024) on all major platforms, with new episodes released weekly.
Currently, Sam Smith is on a global journey with their ‘GLORIA’ tour and is set to perform at some of Europe’s most prominent festivals and events, including the ‘BBC Proms’.
