Excitement is building as Glastonbury Festival announces its headlining acts, with pop sensations Dua Lipa and SZA set to make history by claiming two of the three coveted headline slots. Joining them at the top of the bill is Coldplay, completing a lineup that promises to captivate audiences.

For Dua Lipa, 28, this opportunity marks a significant milestone in her career, describing the gig as the “pinnacle of festival slots.” She humorously added, “The only advice everyone gives me is to bring my wellies,” speaking to the BBC. Her headline set on the Pyramid Stage is anticipated to showcase tracks from her upcoming album, ‘Radical Optimism,’ characterized by its confidently optimistic tone. Dua’s last appearance at Glastonbury was in 2017, where she graced the John Peel stage on a Friday afternoon.

Coldplay, led by Chris Martin, are no strangers to the Glastonbury stage, having first headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2002. Now poised to make history as the first act to headline Glastonbury five times, the band’s chart-topping success ensures anticipation for their performance is at an all-time high, despite their last appearance at the festival dating back to 2016.

Meanwhile, SZA arrives at Glastonbury following a triumphant arena tour and three Grammy Awards win earlier this year. The artist, born Solana Rowe, was also honored as the Best International Artist at the recent Brit Awards, adding to the anticipation surrounding her festival appearance.

Adding to the festival’s star-studded lineup is country music icon Shania Twain, who will grace the coveted ‘legend slot’ on Sunday afternoon. Promising a performance filled with her classic hits, Shania aims to make her set an unforgettable sing-along party.

This year’s lineup boasts a diverse array of female talent, a notable shift from previous years, with the inclusion of Avril Lavigne, Jessie Ware, Cyndi Lauper, and Camila Cabello. Additionally, Little Simz, the Brit Award-winning rapper, is set to perform just before Coldplay takes the stage, ensuring an electrifying atmosphere at Worthy Farm in 2024.
