BTS leader Kim Namjoon, known as RM, has made history by becoming the first Korean rapper to win the Favorite K-pop Artist award at the 2025 American Music Awards.
The ceremony took place Monday night in Las Vegas. RM, 30, beat other nominees including his bandmate Jimin, ATEEZ, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and Stray Kids.
Although RM could not attend the event on May 26 due to his mandatory military service in South Korea, his win marks an important milestone for both his solo career and the wider K-pop industry.
