Solence Announces New Album ‘Angels Calling’ Out October 3

by Patria

Electronic metal band SOLENCE is set to release their fifth album, Angels Calling, on October 3 via Better Noise Music. Known for their energetic performances and optimism, the Swedish quartet blends pop hooks, electro elements, and Swedish metal intensity into a sound that is both uplifting and hypnotic.

Pre-orders for Angels Calling are now live (as of May 13), offering an instant download of the lead single, “Where Were You..?” Fans can also check out the song’s visualizer on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page. In support of the album, SOLENCE will tour Europe later this year, opening for Nothing More. The tour starts on November 7 in Finland, with Catch Your Breath and Ankor also joining the lineup. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. CET via the band’s website.

“Where Were You..?” is a fast-paced track about the disappointment of a friend letting you down in a time of need, according to guitarist David Strääf. “The song keeps up the tempo with a big chorus, modern production, and a heavy, bouncy breakdown that bends genres,” he explains.

SOLENCE returns with a fresh look and a refined sound that combines the best of their past with a forward-looking vision. Frontman Markus Videsäter shares, “For some reason, I’ve always felt like my time on earth is limited, as if I might die young. Our music is about making the most of life, relationships, and passion before heaven calls us home.”

Originally from Sweden and now based in Los Angeles, the band’s lineup includes Videsäter, Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson. The band is focused on uplifting those in dark places, aiming to bring joy back into rock music. “SOLENCE is all about having a good time,” Videsäter says. “We want to bring the fun back into rock n’ roll. I write about motivation and how to get myself out of bed in the morning. ANGELS CALLING is full of energy and craziness—I love every song. It feels massive!”

Angels Calling follows their January EP, Blue Monday, which featured tracks like “Fk The Bad Vibes” and “A Banger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away.” The EP also included two remixes of their hit “Good Fking Music” by MVRE and kodeblooded. Blue Monday earned praise from the Houston Chronicle, which named it among their “Top 50 Best Underground Music Videos of 2024.”

Having toured with Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Electric Callboy, and others, SOLENCE has built a dedicated global fanbase. They’ve performed at major festivals in Europe and the U.S., including Rock For People Festival and Louder Than Life. Known for their engaging live shows, SOLENCE encourages fans to sing and bounce along.

With over 358 million streams and 940,000 monthly Spotify listeners, SOLENCE has gained significant attention. Their debut album Brothers and follow-up Direction propelled them into the mainstream, with their track “Animal In Me” becoming SiriusXM Octane’s most-played song of 2020. Their sound is described as a dynamic fusion of rock, metal, and pop, with electrifying riffs and infectious melodies.

SOLENCE’s 2021 album Deafening explored diverse influences from music, anime, gaming, and philosophy. Their 2023 album Hope Is A Cult continued their exploration of these themes, while Videsäter and Strääf also contributed songwriting to pop artists like Jason Derulo and Bebe Rexha.

Looking ahead, Videsäter reflects on the message of Angels Calling: “Life is too short to worry about doubt or mistakes. We never know when our time is up, so let’s make the most of it while we can.”
