Tokyo, May 7 (Jiji Press) – Popular Japanese pop group Arashi has announced it will end its activities following a concert tour next spring.

The group shared the news through their official fan club website on Tuesday, stating that fan club operations will also cease by May 2026.

Arashi, a five-member male idol group, includes Masaki Aiba (42), Jun Matsumoto (41), Kazunari Ninomiya (41), Satoshi Ohno (44), and Sho Sakurai (43).

Since their debut in 1999, Arashi has released numerous hit songs and built a loyal fan base. The group performed in Japan’s iconic year-end music show, “Kohaku Uta Gassen,” for 12 consecutive years.

Despite their enduring popularity, Arashi paused their group activities at the end of 2020, after an online concert on New Year’s Eve. Leader Ohno also took an indefinite break from show business at that time.
