Lola Young Claims ARIA Chart Top Spot After Hottest 100 Success

Lola Young has ascended to the pinnacle of the ARIA Singles Chart, claiming the #1 spot with her viral hit “Messy” (Island/Universal). The English artist’s track, which ranked 4th on Triple J’s Hottest 100 on January 25th, jumps from 3rd to 1st, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” (Island/Universal), the Hottest 100 winner, slides to #12 on the ARIA chart but remains close to its previous peak of #4. Other notable Hottest 100 hits, including those from Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams, continue to make their mark in the ARIA top 10.

Meanwhile, Canadian pop artist Tate McRae enters the top 10 at #10 with “Sports Car” (RCA/Sony), marking her ninth ARIA Top 50 single. McRae’s previous single “Greedy” hit #2 last year, and she recently toured Australia.

On the ARIA Albums Chart, U.S. singer Teddy Swims claims the top spot with I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) (Warner), while UK rapper Central Cee’s debut album Can’t Rush Greatness (LYR/Columbia) starts strong at #2. SZA’s SOS (RCA/Sony) rounds out the top 3, holding steady at #3.

In the Australian albums section, Melbourne’s Slowly Slowly lands in the top 10 with Forgiving Spree (NWK/MGM), and Western Australia’s Sisters Doll debut at #11 with Scar.

As Luke Combs continues his tour of Australia and New Zealand, his 2017 album This One’s For You (Columbia/Sony) hits a new peak at #6, while fellow country artist Kane Brown debuts at #41 with The High Road (RCA/Sony).
