Rising country music star Mackenzie May has debuted her highly anticipated second single, Old School Kind of Love, a heartfelt tribute to classic love stories that stand the test of time. The 18-year-old, hailing from Central Queensland, follows up her 2024 release Little Things with a song that showcases her raw talent and sophisticated delivery.
In Old School Kind of Love, May reflects on the frustrations of modern-day dating, drawing inspiration from the values she holds dear. “I want a love like the one my dad has shown me,” she explained. “A love where the guy shows up to meet my parents and brings flowers, not just sending casual messages online.”
Looking to her own family for inspiration, May dedicates the song to her grandparents, who have been married for almost 66 years. She fondly remembers the stories of her grandfather picking up her grandmother for a dance at a local hall, a romance she admires deeply.
With Old School Kind of Love, May continues to carve her place in the country music scene, delivering a song that blends timeless sentiment with her contemporary style.
