BTS continues to break records even during their hiatus, with their album Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey achieving Gold Certification in the United Kingdom. This marks the group’s 9th album to reach this prestigious milestone.
On January 25, 2025, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) officially announced that the album had earned Gold status, recognizing 100,000 units sold. The certification follows the BPI’s standards for Gold, which requires 100,000 album units or 400,000 single units sold.
Released as BTS’s fourth Japanese album and eighth overall studio album, Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey features Japanese versions of songs from previous releases such as Love Yourself: Answer (2018), Map of the Soul: Persona (2019), and Map of the Soul: 7 (2020).
This achievement adds to BTS’s impressive catalog, with previous Gold certifications in the UK for albums like Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, Map of the Soul: 7, and others, solidifying their enduring global presence.
