As Sara Berki prepares for her debut headline tour across Australia, the Southern Highlands-based singer-songwriter reflects on her whirlwind 2024 and sets ambitious goals for the year ahead.
The year was a landmark one for Berki, beginning with a viral performance of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” before an AFL game in Brisbane, which was hailed as a “defining moment” that united the worlds of sports and music. Other standout events included her cover of Lainey Wilson’s “Out of Oklahoma” for the Twisters Soundtrack Brisbane Showcase, a performance at SXSW, and opening for Dasha at a special one-off fan show in Sydney.
In the midst of her rising fame, Berki continued to focus on her music, signing with Warner Music Australia in October. Joining a prestigious roster of artists such as James Johnston, Morgan Evans, and Ashley McBryde, Berki followed up the announcement with the release of her emotionally charged single, “Twice.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Berki is eager to keep the momentum going. “It’s all about putting it all in place and being present in what I’m writing about,” she says of her upcoming projects.
Her debut headline tour will see her perform in Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne, offering fans a unique experience with both solo acoustic and full band sets. As she heads into what promises to be a “massive” year, Berki acknowledges the challenges and rewards of her rapidly rising career, expressing that everything she’s experiencing is the result of years of hard work and dedication.
