19-year-old Philadelphia rap music icon Sturdyyoungin has made waves in his city with his fresh, danceable rap sound. Following his viral guest appearance on “BUMBAA” by Ohthatsmizz, Sturdyyoungin now drops “Trippin’,” a high-energy anthem with a nostalgic twist. The track remixes Fergie’s iconic “Clumsy,” transforming it into a club-ready banger alongside fellow Philly artist Ohthatsmizz and NYC’s ZeddyWill.
In the music video, a nod to teen movies, the trio of rappers plays football players vying for the attention of the cheerleading captain. Sturdyyoungin shows off his athletic prowess, while ZeddyWill works his charm in the school hallway, and Ohthatsmizz wins the girl over with burgers. The video culminates in a house party where rivalries are set aside, and the crowd grooves to the viral “Trippin’” dance.
Known in Philly for his social media presence, Sturdyyoungin rose to fame with dance challenges and freestyles before launching his solo music career. He later joined the influential Philly dance rap crew 2Humpy, which included artists like 2Rare and Bril. After the group disbanded, Sturdyyoungin found solo success with his collaborator Ohthatsmizz, and together, they achieved over 1.3 million streams on their hit single “How It Goes.”
Sturdyyoungin’s latest success comes on the heels of the viral “BUMBAA” by Mizz, a TikTok sensation that has garnered millions of views and widespread attention from celebrities like Jayda Wayda and LaLa Anthony. The duo also sparked an “open verse challenge” that further fueled their growing fanbase.
