Country music icon Melba Montgomery has passed away at the age of 86. Montgomery, renowned for her contributions to the genre, died on January 15.
Her daughter, Melissa Solomon Barrett, shared the news on Facebook, remembering her mother as a devoted family member and an incredible talent. “It is with great sadness that we announce our family has lost our mother, Melba Montgomery Solomon,” Barrett wrote. “She fought a long battle with dementia but is now with her loving husband, Jack Solomon, in Heaven.”
Barrett also expressed gratitude for the love and support her mother received, describing her as “an incredibly talented, kind and generous woman.” Montgomery’s legacy in country music will continue to be remembered by fans and loved ones alike.
