Ashley Gorley wins ASCAP Songwriter of the Year for 10th time

For a record 10th time, Ashley Gorley has been named ASCAP Country Music Songwriter of the Year.

The You Proof writer was presented with the ASCAP Country Music Songwriter of the Year award at the 61st Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards on Monday at the Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville.

The 2023 ceremony marked the 10th time Ashley has won Country Music Songwriter of the Year. He extended his record for most wins in the category.

Ashley worked on 10 of ASCAPs most played country songs last year, including five of Morgan Walls’ songs: YouProof, LastNight, EverythingILove, OneThingAtA Time, and ThinkingbOutMe.

This marks the third time Ashley has co-written an ASCAP Country Song of the Year, with You Proof being named ASCAP Country Song of the Year. The country song debuts to number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and peaks to number five on the Billboard Hot 100.

Other songs written by Ashley, 46, include Gold by Dierks Bentley, She Had Me at Heads Carolina by Cole Swindell, What He Didn’t Do by Carly Pierce, Girl in Mine by Parmalee and You Didn’t by Brett Young.
