Phnom Penh’s classical music fans have a special event this weekend. The Phnom Penh Symphony Orchestra (PPSO) will perform at the University of the Fine Arts Concert Hall, part of Phnom Penh University (PPU) in Boeung Keng Kang 1. The concert will take place on Saturday at 6 pm.

The orchestra will play famous pieces by Mozart, Haydn, Grieg, and Strauss. The performance will be led by the well-known Korean conductor Joongun Chang. The PPSO aims to bring the beauty and depth of Western classical music to Phnom Penh.

Noah Almalt, the orchestra’s Principal Oboist, said, “Our musicians are passionate about sharing classical music with the people of Phnom Penh. We hope this concert will inspire and connect with listeners from all walks of life.”

The concert hall at PPU is known for its warm sound and its role in Cambodia’s growing music culture.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for students. Seating is limited, so it is best to reserve in advance.
