Denver’s rap-metal band Fox Lake is fueling excitement with their latest single, “Pure Adrenaline,” ahead of their upcoming album release.
This track marks the band’s second single of the year, following January’s well-received “Cold Hard Truth.” Both songs will appear on their forthcoming album, New World Heat.
“Pure Adrenaline” has been in development since 2021 but recently came together as a high-energy track. It features roaring guitars, ’90s-style turntablism, and intense, chaotic mosh moments. Vocalist Nathan Johnson delivers aggressive lyrics, expressing frustration and a refusal to hold back, declaring, “No more games, I’m done with the bullshit.” He and the band describe themselves as “a shock to the system.”
In a joint statement, Fox Lake said they wanted the new songs to be “faster, more visceral, more concrete, and most importantly, all gas, no brakes. Pure fucking adrenaline.”
The band also released a new video for “Pure Adrenaline,” showing them performing energetically across Denver in a style reminiscent of That ‘70s Show. The video is available above.
Regarding New World Heat, Fox Lake said the album centers around the theme of destruction as a way to restart and rebuild. The full tracklist and album cover are shared below. The album will officially drop on August 1 through MNRK Heavy and is now available for pre-order.
More insight into the making of New World Heat can be found in the latest issue of Revolver magazine. The spring issue features an exclusive interview with frontman Johnson, along with articles on Spiritbox, Deafheaven, Coheed and Cambria, and more. It is available for purchase here.
