Detroit Rapper Kash Doll Empowers Fans During STL Tour Stop

by Patria

Actress and rapper Kash Doll marked International Women’s Day with a powerful performance during the St. Louis stop of her “The Last Doll Tour” at The Hawthorn on Thursday. Her show captivated the audience, a mostly female crowd, filling the room with energy, confidence, and empowerment.

From the beginning to the end, the concert showcased women who have firmly established themselves in their fields. Kash Doll’s music sends a message of self-assurance, encouraging women to embrace their power and take charge. Instead of teaching in a classroom, she uses hip-hop beats and the gritty Detroit style her fans know and love.

Every element of Kash Doll’s performance reflected her signature style, with everything in pink, from her merchandise to the stage banners and design. A large pink banner featuring two images of Kash Doll in a satin top with her name and “The Last Doll Tour” framed the stage. To the left of the stage stood a pink Lamborghini cut-out that doubled as the DJ booth.

The first opener was rising star Clare Siobhan, who performed “Chinese Finger Trap” in a pink cropped tracksuit. The song energized the crowd, many of whom wore fur boots and strappy heels, encouraging them to move closer to the stage. The track, which helped propel Siobhan into the Detroit rap scene, sparked excitement among her fans and intrigued new listeners.

After Siobhan’s performance, the crowd erupted into chants for Kash Doll. Instead of taking the spotlight for herself, Kash Doll shared the stage with another talented woman from her album, Shantel May. The Toronto native, wearing a sparkling pink halter top, performed tracks from her album Triggered But Here, including “Dangerous” and “The Hard Way.” Though the audience was unfamiliar with her music, by the end of her set, many were singing along.

DJ Angel Baby introduced Kash Doll as the large pink banner was moved aside to reveal the rapper standing inside a life-size pink doll box, a playful nod to her name. The stage setup also included a fur closet, a champagne area, and a beauty room complete with a vanity under pink neon lights featuring the Chanel logo.

Kash Doll opened with “Klarity,” the first track from her The Last Doll album. The song, which also honors her daughter, had the crowd in awe of her beauty and talent. “Finally, I’m who I’m supposed to be,” she sang, expressing gratitude for the life she’s built.

She then addressed her critics before launching into a remix of “Poppin” and “Check,” followed by an energetic dance break that seamlessly transitioned into “Ice Me Out.” The crowd, already energized, continued to dance as she performed her verses from “So Good” and “Fantasy.” Kash Doll shared an empowering message for women, especially regarding relationships, before performing “Krazy.”

For “Comfy,” Kash Doll moved to the fur closet with her backup dancers. The song, which felt like a casual conversation with friends, included lyrics like, “How I’m sleep when you leave? Peacefully. How I’m outside in these streets? Frequently.” Afterward, she encouraged self-reflection, asking, “Do you love yourself?” She then asked everyone in the audience to give themselves a hug.

The concert ended with a performance of “Kash Commandments,” a song outlining ten essential rules for relationships and business.

For her encore, Kash Doll performed the song that “changed my life forever,” “For Everybody.” The audience joined in, rapping along from start to finish.

As the show came to a close, Kash Doll thanked the crowd, who responded with cheers, before she left the stage. Though the lights dimmed, her presence continued to resonate in the room.
