In the dynamic world of Vietnamese Hip Hop, rap beefs have grown to be more than just musical rivalry. They can reshape careers, alter reputations, and sometimes even destroy legacies. The recent feud between Hanoi-based rapper Rocky CDE and Blacka, the runner-up of Rap Việt Season 2, highlights the power these battles can have.
Rocky CDE was initially not involved in any conflict with Blacka but found himself in the middle of a feud after releasing the diss track ‘BLACK MULOZ’. Though the song didn’t directly target Blacka, its lyrics contained veiled insults that stirred speculation.
Blacka, who is familiar with rap battles, responded the following day with ‘Găng’. While he avoided directly mentioning Rocky, listeners quickly picked up on the subtle challenges in the song, positioning himself as the dominant figure and subtly calling out both Rocky and another unnamed rapper.
Rocky didn’t hold back. Within hours, he released ‘2 Con Mèo Mập’, a diss track that took a much more direct approach. Rocky made serious accusations about Blacka, dragging his personal life into the spotlight. The track quickly gained momentum, surpassing 100,000 views within hours. Unlike most rap battles that stay within the music world, Rocky blurred the lines between rap and real-life drama, causing public opinion to shift against Blacka.
The situation escalated when a woman, reportedly Blacka’s ex-girlfriend, seemingly confirmed some of Rocky’s accusations. The controversy grew even more intense when GAMA Preshow, a major music event featuring Blacka, removed him from their lineup.
Blacka responded by denying the allegations, claiming he was being falsely accused and suggesting possible legal action. But the damage had already been done. Despite his defenses, the Vietnamese rap community had already picked their side, and Blacka ultimately announced his exit from the feud.
