Former FIFTY FIFTY members Aran, Sio, and Saena have addressed the controversy surrounding their decision to work with Ahn Sung-il, the producer behind their breakout hit “Cupid.” The trio, who are set to redebut under the new group name ablume, released statements, alongside their label, Massive E&C, clarifying their reasons for reuniting with Ahn, the CEO of The Givers.
Massive E&C revealed that Ahn’s involvement in their upcoming music project came at the personal request of the members, who chose to work with him for their redebut. This decision comes after a turbulent period marked by legal disputes. In 2023, FIFTY FIFTY’s original label, Attrakt, accused Ahn of attempting to “poach” the members following the success of “Cupid.” After a lengthy legal battle, Attrakt terminated the contracts of Aran, Sio, and Saena, and later reorganized FIFTY FIFTY with a new lineup, featuring Keena and a fresh mini-album, Love Tune.
